Frequently Asked Questions

I wish I could give you a simple answer here, but the truth is—it varies!  Our amazing patients come to our office with a variety of health concerns, and a whole spectrum of financial options.  For example, some people are self-pay, others have insurance, some people want to use and HSA or a flex savings plan, another option is care credit, whew, that is a lot of options!  So here is what I can tell you, we want to get this right for you.  Our office will be able to give you some idea of what your first visit will cost after talking with you on the phone.  Once you are here, you can bring any of those financial options to our attention, and then when you receive your report and care recommendations, we will include a written estimate of your expected costs based upon all the information that is specific to your unique situation.  Once you have all the details we can provide, you can decide to either accept your care plan and begin treatment, or, you can decline care—that is all up to you.  We are here to support you, and help you, but only you can determine and decide what is the right fit for your life.

Traditionally, the first visit and second visit to our office take more time.  Imagine you wanted to build a new house, it would super important for you to meet with the architect and discuss your plans for you new home, and they would want to gather information about your expectations, later the architect would return and present a plan to you on how to build your house.  Well, similarly, your health is important, and on your first visit to our office we want to take the time to lay the foundation for what your body will need to reach your health goals. Once we have established the unique needs of your situation and created a plan for how to get there, the action steps take much less time.  So, the first visit to our office usually takes about an hour, and the second visit usually takes about 40 minutes.  Follow-up treatments can take 5-15 minutes depending upon your unique situation.

Again, I wish this was a simple answer, but alas, we are all unique!  The depth of examination and analysis the doctor applies is unique to you and your circumstances and is decided based upon your condition as well as years of clinical expertise shared by our doctors.  I can at least provide you a range, the cost could be $25 to $155.  If you would like more details about what your specific visit cost could be, please call and talk with our staff, or ask us for more details once you get here.

The care recommendations our dedicated doctors prescribe for your benefit will depend on many things: the condition and health of your body, the degree of impairment in your every day life, your goals for increased vitality or wellness in your life.  So while I cannot give you a number here, you can relax knowing that our doctors will recommend a personalized plan based upon your needs and the best of what science tells us will improve your life. A great analogy to keep in mind has to do with exercise—it would be impossible to grow visibly bigger muscles with one trip to the gym.  The human body requires time and repetition to change.  So, with regard to chiropractic, there are certainly offices that choose to provide treatment without doing any type of examination or explanation of your health condition, we do not.   To us—this is a lot like getting a day pass to the gym—sure you can get a good workout, and it would be ‘good’ for your health, but it would be impossible to change your lifetime of health with that one day at the gym.  At our office, we want more for you, we want to make a significant impact on your life and vitality.  To be successful with that, we analyze your condition and make a detailed plan for your wellness.  So the amount of treatment you will need will be impossible to predict here, but I can confidently say that I believe it will take more than a “day pass” to change your health!

Yes, we sure do! It is so easy for our patients to choose payment options, if you want to use your insurance just bring your card, we will handle the rest.  I would like to remark that insurance rates, copays, and coinsurance amounts are always provided by your insurance company.  The only people with access to your literal insurance policy are you, and your insurance company.  So the world of insurance is very complicated, we all know that, but we decided to put every effort into making your experience in our office enjoyable, that means we do the leg work.  Our office will call your insurance company, research your benefits, coordinate, and financially plan your estimated cost of care.  In our opinion it is important to help you with the billing, so that you have the opportunity to concentrate on what is important, your health!

I love this question!!  We adjust/treat our patients how they want to receive treatment.  What do I mean?  I mean that this is your care plan, your body—if you want a particular type of care, and it is safe for you to receive, we will change the treatment to accommodate.  Do you love to feel the ‘pop’ when your spine is treated? We can offer that.  Does the idea of something ‘popping’ make your skin crawl instead? Either way, we have you covered!  There are a variety of treatment styles and options available, and we are here for you.  We are your team members and leaders to a better state of health.  Your health journey is about what you want to accomplish, please feel comfortable communicating with us on how you would like that journey to proceed.

YES!! Our team is wonderful with babies and children.  We have a special video you can watch in the office shows the little ones receiving treatment.  The children love to receive the extremely gentle care we provide.  I know, some people are picturing something extreme regarding chiropractic care and children, let me encourage you to take a deep breath and relax knowing that we are highly trained professionals that adore children, and their wellbeing and safety is always at the forefront of our minds.  You can visit our Chiropractic for Kids page to see many of the reasons families bring their children to the chiropractor.  It is a fantastic safe, and natural way to improve their health.

Oh yes!!  Mommas-to-be, we are your go-to place for improving your experience as a pregnant mom.  We see mommas throughout their entire pregnancy, and can change our treatment styles to accommodate for a growing baby.  Outcomes relating chiropractic care and pregnancy are SO exciting: shorter labor times (5.5 to 11 HOURS shorter!) AND healthier moms and babies at delivery, learn more here.

Science tells us your body functions better with a healthier nervous system, and that is a core concept related to chiropractic care, a healthier functioning nervous system.  So, while it would be necessary for us to meet you and learn about your body before answering this question with anything more specific, I can confidently say it is worth exploring!  We want you to function your best, and we keep that goal close to heart in all of our recommendations.

In our bodies we have what are called synovial joints.  These are joint spaces that are surrounded with a fluid capsule.  As far as science can determine, the infamous -pop- is some nitrogen gas leaving the joint space.  [picture a bubble being blown from the foaming dishwater] The pop itself is not the treatment, it does occur often in specific treatment styles, but the therapy/improvement of your condition can occur with or without popping at the joint space.

Most of the time people find the treatment to be relaxing and even enjoyable as they regain the health in their spine and nervous system.  There are occasions when people experience a brief discomfort during the treatment, this is more common in individuals who are already in extreme pain.  Our doctors are very sensitive to these situations and are ready to coach those individuals through the process to get the most benefit from care with the least amount of discomfort.  In our office, the treatment experience should be tailored to your needs, if you want a gentler form of treatment, just let us know.  Do you prefer a firmer style of treatment? Just let us know.

As a general rule, no, you will not need to remove any clothing.  If during your first visit to our office the doctor determines that you will need an x-ray, you will need to remove any metal/plastic you are wearing.  We have patient gowns, t-shirts, and shorts that people can wear to replace any clothing times they need to remove. I will mention that there are times that babies need to be undressed down to their diapers, this is typically very brief and part of the evaluation relating to developmental changes, and of course we will get them back to their onesies as quickly as possible.

The need for an x-ray is determined by your examination as well as the doctors’ clinical expertise.  The information on an x-ray includes but is not limited to:  alignment of your spine, the health of the joint spaces in your spine, the space available for your nerves in your spine, premature aging processes, and more.  Our office takes and extra measure of safety regarding x-rays by taking individual segments of your spine rather than your whole back all at once.  By taking smaller pictures of your spine (picture an 8X10” photograph versus a 4X6” photograph) we can get beautiful digital images with less exposure to your body.  X-ray results are shared at your follow-up visit which ensures there is plenty of time for questions and answers regarding your condition.

Aside from being our absolute passion, chiropractic care is a safe and natural way to approach your overall wellbeing, and your specific health conditions.  Studies show when people choose chiropractic as their first attempt for improving their health condition that they experience great health savings. “Chiropractic care” summarizes the experience of having a chiropractor examine your spine and correct any subluxations (areas of your back that are experiencing problems) with an adjustment (the treatment the doctor utilizes to correct nervous system interference or -problems in your back-).  The profession is well over 100 years old now and has been inspiring better health for millions of people.
